A wet market in Jurong West & Jurong Point’s FairPrice Xtra have been demarcated as locations visited by Covid-19 cases, confirmed the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Jurong Point – a west-side shopping complex – now has 4 locations listed:
Additionally, a new wet market has been announced as a place visited by “infectious” Covid-19 patients.
Besides visits paid on 20 & 21 May to NTUC Fairprice and Shokutsu 10, an unstated number of “infectious” Covid-19 cases also visited FairPrice Xtra on Sunday (24 May).
The shopping trip to FairPrice Xtra took the individual 1 hour, from 1pm to 2pm on a Sunday afternoon.
The public has been advised to offset their visits to avoid similar peak timings.
As for the second addition to the list — the 2-hour trip took place at a wet market located at Blk 963 Jurong West in early hours Sunday morning from 6am to 8am.
It can be observed that both visitations on 24 May were made on a weekend, in the early morning to noon — considered peak hours to visit the wet market or supermarket.
As SafeEntry is compulsory for customers entering supermarkets, MOH confirms that “close contacts” of these Covid-19 cases have already “been notified”.
For citizens who’ve visited Jurong Point or the wet market at similar dates & timings, you’re reminded to monitor your health for the next 14 days from your date of visit.
MOH shared on Monday (25 May) that heartland locations where confirmed Covid-19 patients have visited for 30 min or longer will be made publicly known.
This is to facilitate contact tracing and to aid the progress of “epidemiological investigations”.
The list of public locations currently excludes the following places:
These places will be updated on a “rolling basis” according to a 14-day incubation period.
Visitors of these areas are reminded to see a doctor immediately if you develop any of these respiratory symptoms:
Patients should also inform their doctors of their “exposure history”, said MOH.
We hope that all affected patients will have a swift recovery and that everyone continues to adhere to social distancing cues & mask regulations.
As for those who had visited any of these locations recently, do pay close attention to the health & well-being of your loved ones in the next 2 weeks.
