MS News has reached out to the mall’s management, and they have confirmed that there was indeed a suspected case that visited their premises on Thursday (6 Feb).

Here’s the gist of what we know.

Visited clinic on basement floor

According to the mall’s statement, a suspected coronavirus patient, along with a companion, visited Fullerton Health Clinic situated at Basement 1 of the mall on 6 Feb at 12.50pm.

Both parties were isolated in the clinic. Affected areas have swiftly been disinfected and sanitised.

Personal protective equipment was used when they were transferring the patient. The patient was sent via a designated route designed to minimise exposure of the patient to the general public.

Mercatus, the management of the mall, assured tenants that they will continue to carry out precautionary measures and stepping up their cleaning frequency.

They added that further updates will be shared when possible.

Practise good personal hygiene

As with other malls that received suspected cases of the novel coronavirus, it’s good to see Jurong Point informing the public of what they need to know.

Whether we are in the midst of a health crisis or not, we should practise good personal hygiene.

Let’s all play our part to keep ourselves and the community safe.
