The KSL Hotel & Resort in Johor Bahru (JB) is a popular place to stay at for many Singaporeans on a short getaway across the Causeway.
Recently, a Malaysian woman staying there claimed her wallet, containing S$1,600 cash, went missing from her room despite it being locked.
A police report has been lodged.
The woman, known as Priscilla, shared that this horrible incident happened in her room at KSL Hotel & Resort.
She and her boyfriend checked into the hotel at around 2am, and, according to Lianhe Zaobao, the pair checked that the door was locked before going to sleep.
However, when Priscilla woke up at 11am, she apparently found her bag left open. The items in the bag were also shifted as if someone had gone through her bag.
Most importantly, Priscilla noticed that her wallet was missing.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the wallet that had gone missing was from Kate Spade and contained S$1,600 in cash.

It also contained her identity card, driving licence, and bank cards.
Priscilla approached the reception for help, but the manager who assisted her claimed that her room’s record showed that all entries were made using her own room card.

The manager also said that hotel staff wouldn’t have known if the wallet was taken from the room. He subsequently advised Priscilla to lodge a police report.
Priscilla heeded the manager’s advice and made a report with the Malaysian police before returning to Singapore. However, she claims that she had yet to receive any response from them.
We hope Priscilla will be able to find her wallet with all the belongings intact.
While on holiday, it’s important to keep our belongings in a secure place. Should the need arise, one should also use the safe provided.
Most importantly, make sure that the hotel room door is latched. That way, nobody will be able to enter the room, with or without a room card.
As the end-year holidays approach, we hope everyone will travel safely.
