Lin Li Fang (name transliterated from Chinese), best known for her part-time DJ role at Mediacorp radio station Capital 958, died on Monday (29 July).
The news of her passing was shared on Capital 958’s Facebook page on Tuesday (30 July).
“Her voice accompanied us on countless weekends. She is now in a faraway place. Let us remember the good times she once brought us,” read the accompanying caption.
According to 8world news, Madam Lin passed away at the age of 67 after battling an undisclosed illness.
Speaking to the Chinese news site, Madam Lin’s fellow DJ Li Si Jia described her as an “experienced and excellent” broadcaster.
Mr Li also compared Madam Lin to a “friendly elder sister” with a deep passion for broadcasting.
To illustrate, Mr Li mentioned that she would always brief her colleagues taking over her shift about important details and potential issues to watch out for.
Madam Lin’s part-time role at Capital 958 began in the 1980s and continued until 2022.
