Long-serving veteran of the Workers’ Party Mr Low Thia Khiang has officially been discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after being admitted for a head injury on Thursday (30 Apr).
Thankfully, he’s described to be in a stable condition and remains conscious.
On Sunday (3 May), WP released a statement sharing that Mr Low had been warded in the ICU after a fall at home.
The 63-year-old statesman had sustained a head injury on Thursday (30 Apr).
Mr Low’s family also sought privacy for his admission so he could rest and recuperate during the crucial period of recovery.
Just 5 days later, it was announced that Mr Low had pulled through his ICU stay to be transferred to a regular ward.
As he’ll be expected to be on MC after the incident, all 4 other Aljunied GRC MPs will help cover his duties.
Mr Low had recently stepped down as WP’s chief, passing the torch to Mr Pritam Singh to lead the opposition party in the upcoming general election.
Though the accident was unfortunate, we hope that Mr Low takes the chance to get ample rest while his fellow party members step in to help out.
He’s expected to remain in the hospital’s general ward for “a few more weeks”, reports TODAYOnline.
His family also expresses their thanks for the well-wishes they’ve received in support of Mr Low’s speedy recovery.
Get well soon Mr Low, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
