She saw firefighters making their way to the sixth floor, the same floor she was headed.

The user, who was getting her hair done, was initially told by the hairstylist that there was no need to evacuate.

However, a firefighter later told them to evacuate the sixth floor, she said.

In a photo she shared, police officers and SCDF firefighters can be seen attending to an incident on the smoke-filled sixth floor.

It was at 304 Orchard Road — the address of Lucky Plaza.

The blaze involved the contents of a charcoal stove inside a unit on the sixth floor.

It was extinguished by members of the public using buckets of water before the SCDF arrived.

Two individuals were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a result of the fire, SCDF said.

About 20 other people had self-evacuated before the SCDF arrived.
