A rideshare driver in Malaysia made an amusing error by driving off without checking if the passenger had boarded.
The incident allegedly occurred on 22 Nov.
The dashcam video of the incident showed the red-shirted driver picking up a passenger.
The passenger first opened the back door and loaded his bags into the back seat.
He then shut the door and walked to open the front passenger door to sit.
However, the driver wrongly assumed that the door closing meant the passenger had boarded.
As such, he immediately began driving off.
The bewildered customer knocked on the rideshare car’s window as it pulled away with his stuff inside.
Meanwhile, the driver asked where his passenger wanted to go, only to receive no response.
He then checked the rearview mirror and then turned to realise nobody was in the back seat.
The driver looked out of the window and presumably spotted the passenger and quickly stopped his vehicle.
He couldn’t help but smile at the error as his customer hurried over and got into the front seat.
He explained that he thought the passenger had already boarded when he heard the door close.
The passenger also said he intended to come to sit at the front.
Both laughed the situation off instead of getting angry.
