A man in Japan was caught on security camera footage surprising a female massage parlour employee, attacking her, and then robbing the shop.
The incident occurred on 24 Oct in the city of Hiroshima, according to FNN Prime Online.
Footage showed the man entering the massage parlour as a customer. After peering through one of the doors, he hid inside one of the rooms with a white piece of cloth in his hands.
When a female employee appeared on camera, the man sprang from his hiding spot.
He first threw the piece of cloth over her hand, surprising her.
He then wrapped his arm around her neck and pulled her closer into a clinch. While she was still surprised, he kneed her repeatedly in the stomach.
The woman screamed and attempted to fight back, but the man slammed her into the wall. Hammering her with his fist, he then threw her to the ground.
With her helpless and grounded, the man demanded money from the battered woman. He managed to snag about ¥3,000 (S$26) in cash before fleeing the shop.
The woman suffered minor injuries to her face and body from the attack.
Japanese police have since apprehended the suspect — a 24-year-old construction worker. They are now investigating the details of the crime as well as the man’s motives.
The man declined to answer questions from the media.
