A 65-year-old man was killed in Mingjian Township, Nantou County, Taiwan on 19 Dec after being deliberately rammed by a car and stabbed multiple times by his neighbour, following a long-running dispute over noise complaints.
The victim, surnamed Xiao, was preparing to head out on his motorcycle at around 7am when the suspect, a 51-year-old man surnamed Huang, allegedly lay in wait near an alley close to his home.
According to local news reports, Huang drove his private car into Mr Xiao as he was leaving, knocking him to the ground.
He then exited the vehicle and stabbed Mr Xiao repeatedly in the chest with a fruit knife that investigators believe had been concealed in advance.

At around 7.42am, just minutes after the attack, Huang reportedly called the police to report that he had committed a murder.
Officers arrived to find him still at the scene, where he admitted to the killing and was taken into custody.
Investigations indicate that the two men had been neighbours and had been involved in an ongoing dispute for more than six months.
According to police, Huang was suspected of having an unstable mental state and was known to cause disturbances late at night, including setting off firecrackers.
Neighbours, reluctant to confront him directly, had repeatedly sought police help by lodging reports.
Investigators believe Huang suspected Mr Xiao of being behind the complaints and grew increasingly resentful, which they say ultimately led to the fatal attack.
Police have seized the knives and vehicle used in the assault, with forensic officers collecting evidence at the scene.
The case is being investigated as a homicide and will be referred to the Nantou District Prosecutors’ Office.
Mr Xiao is survived by his wife and four children.
