A man was caught on CCTV stealing a young woman’s underwear and returning it after smearing it with his bodily fluid.
The incident happened at around 11.20pm on Tuesday (29 Oct) at a dormitory around Ming Chuan University in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
In the surveillance footage, the man wearing a mask was seen wiping underwear on his face and seemingly stuffing another in his pocket.
He was also seen climbing along the wall and peeping into the windows of the women’s dormitory.
According to the victim, who is a college student, the man has been harassing her since June this year.
Recently, she was shocked to discover that the underwear she left hanging in the clothes-drying area had been disappearing or hung back in place with a stain from an unknown liquid.
After checking her surveillance camera, she discovered that it was the man who doing this.
The young woman also added that the man had been captured by the CCTV camera more frequently, up to thrice in the past week.
Fortunately, the woman often stayed with her family, but even when they came across the man outside, they would not dare to argue with him for fear of being harmed.
However, unable to bear his harassment further, she reported the incident and sent the footage to the police.
Since all the houses nearby were rented by Ming Chuan University students, the police have been receiving several reports of the man peeping into windows and stealing women’s underwear.
They stated that they are currently reviewing the footage from CCTV cameras around the area to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Additionally, the police have also strengthened their patrols in the area to maintain the safety of the community.
