Recently, a man in Linyi City, Shandong Province, China had to employ the help of firefighters to rescue him from his bedcovers.
The man had covered himself with six blankets to take a nap at home.
However, upon turning over, he fell into a gap between the bed and the wall and was unable to get out of the position due to the thick blankets around him.
With no one else at home, he called firefighters for help, reports local news site CTWANT.
The firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving the report and found the man trapped among the blankets and stuck in the gap.
In a video of the rescue, four personnel were seen working together to pull the man out of the tight space.
After being rescued, the man reportedly exclaimed, “It’s so hot!”
Despite the man being rescued, he seems unable to escape embarrassment as the video of his rescue was posted on the Internet.
“The possibility of a human being being killed by a quilt is almost zero, but it is definitely not zero,” one commenter quipped.
Others noted that the man could have called his friends instead of the authorities, but may have not done it to avoid being laughed at, which is ironic now that the video has gone viral.
Meanwhile, some also pointed out that the man was lucky he took his phone to bed, or he would not have been able to get help.
