Marina Bay New Year Countdown Has 80-Min-Long Japanese Musical Fireworks On 31 Dec

Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition Lets You Start 2020 With A Blast At The Float @ Marina Bay

As we approach the end of 2019, one thing many of us look forward to – apart from setting our new year resolutions – are countdown parties.

If you’re looking for a spectacular show that’ll illuminate not only the sky, but your life too, there’s no need to travel all the way to Japan for their amazing musical fireworks.

Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition will be having an 80-minute-long musical fireworks happening at The Float @ Marina Bay on 31 Dec.

Last year’s Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition

According to the media release on Friday (8 Nov), Japanese hanabi artisans will bring us an action-packed event “with the latest Japanese-designed fireworks, cutting-edge technologies and new experiential show elements”.

Hanabi means fireworks.

Here’s more on what you can expect.

6 chapters of musical fireworks at Marina Bay

Even though Star Island’s dazzling fireworks show is 80 minutes long, you can expect time to past in the blink of an eye. The spectacle is performed in 6 chapters, promising a diverse, enjoyable experience.

The 6 chapters are:

  • Ceremony
  • Another Earth
  • Galaxy Party
  • Microcosmos
  • Grand Finale

As if this wasn’t impressive enough, we learnt that 500 drones have been choreographed to move in sync with the fireworks illuminating the sky against Marina Bay as a backdrop.

One can only imagine how beautiful that will look.

Live DJ performances, food village & more

Attendees can also expect to immerse yourselves in a series of fun activities.

From 5pm onwards, you can expect activities like live DJ performances to get you in the mood for the countdown.

If you’re planning to go as a family, you can also check out the family-friendly entertainment zone.

And before being seated for the 80-minute-long fireworks show, you can choose to grab a bite at their food village.

Fireworks aren’t the only attraction of the night, as you can revel in performances from Olympians, former circus troupes and more during the show.

Here’s how revellers got to enjoy their 2019 countdown during the same fireworks event by Star Island on 31 Dec last year.

Ticket sales starts on 7 Nov

By the time you’re reading this, ticket sales have already started so it’s probably time to chiong. Ticket prices ranges from $88 – S$468 (VIP).

If you’d like to enjoy the fireworks like a boss, you can purchase a lounge access to the Star Suites for $6,888 – $8,888.

This lounge access lets you watch the fireworks while resting your bums on cushioned seats. You can also get access to their food & beverages during the show.
