If You Want Your Mars Bars Fix, You’re Going To Be Disappointed

Mars Chocolate voluntarily recalls chocolate bars in 55 countries including Singapore

Take a long good look at this picture of a Mars bar, because you won’t be seeing it again for quite some time.

On 23 Feb Mars Chocolate released a voluntary recall notice on SNICKERS®, MARS®, MILKY WAY® and CELEBRATIONS® products on its website. The affected items are believed to be in the same manufacturing batch as the plastic-containing chocolate bar discovered in Germany.

Only products labelled as originating from “Mars Netherlands” will be recalled.

AVA released a press statement of its own the day after requesting for the recall of the chocolate bars as a precautionary measure. AVA also confirmed in its press statement that there are imports of Mars Netherlands products in Singapore.

The authority has already instructed all Singapore importers to pull Mars Netherlands products from the shelves.

The 55 nations affected by the recall are mostly European and served by the Netherlands processing plant. The plastic-containing chocolate bar was made in the Netherlands, in between 5 Dec 2015 and 18 Jan 2016.

Meanwhile we’ll just have to rely on Hershey’s to help us get over this.
