Christmas may be 3 months away, but apparently, Santa came early.
Metro The Centrepoint is holding a massive moving out sale from now till 6 Oct 2019. Clothes, bags, shoes, toys, houseware and kitchenware across all of the department store’s 5 floors will be going at ridiculous discounts of up to 90%.
Once every item is off the shelf, the flagship outlet will officially and permanently bring down its shutters, marking an end to its 5-year run.
Below are some items you can expect to find at the sale.
For the ladies, the first floor is a maze of luxury leather handbags and purses. You will find familiar brands like Picard, Jane Shilton, and even haute couture ones from Valentino and Balenciaga.
All across the sea of leather and silver will be discounts applied of up to 90%. For example, Jane Shilton bags, while they usually go for close to $300, now go for $150 and below.
On the second and third floors, you’ll find a colourful arrangement of clothing — for both men and women.
There are plenty of dresses, crop tops, T-shirts, shorts, plaid pants and jeans for the ladies. Some of the brands featured are the city-savvy Dorothy Perkins and a floral flock from Mann & Co.
Also, undergarments from established brands like Triumph will be going for bundled deals.
For the guys, there’ll be no shortage of choice with the rows of business wear and casual attires.
The December holidays are just around the corner. If your luggage has a stubborn zipper or if it has a thin crack waiting to widen, better change it before it ruins a holiday. Samsonite and American Tourister luggages are known for their durability and, as a bonus, their sleek aesthetic.
There are also Samsonite laptop bags if you’re travelling light or for business.
Apostles of the great outdoors should be familiar with the high-utility backpack brands Osprey and Thule.
From heels to flats, boat shoes to sneakers, the store’s selection of footwear will spoil you for choice. Some brands for the ladies include the hip-and-cool Skechers and the highly comfort-centric Melissa.
Those looking for something more casual, perhaps built for the beach or an evening walk, can pick sandals and slippers from Fit Flop. Some of them have prices down by as much as 50%.
Pots, pans, knives, forks, cups, glasses and even a Nespresso machine will be up for grabs too.
One of the more popular items include a spray mop and reversible ironing board. The staff told us that these items have to be replenished very frequently.
The children aren’t left out in this den of discounts. The toys and games section has Lego sets and the ever-popular Nerf guns.
Fancy a Funko Pop for your table to give it a bit more life and character? A whole range of them from franchises like DC, Star Wars and ever-adorable Minions are going for about 40% cheaper.
The sale lasts till 6 Oct, which gives you about 2 more weeks to refresh your wardrobe and refurbish your home at a discount. And remember, items on promotion are while stocks last!
