Family members understandably worry when their loved ones go missing, and especially so if they’re frail and aged.
On Monday (16 Dec) afternoon, 2 senior citizens reportedly went missing in the southwestern region of Singapore.
Singapore Police Force (SPF) is currently seeking information on their whereabouts and have taken to Twitter to spread the word.
In the first case, a 78-year-old woman was last seen at Tiong Bahru Plaza at around 12pm on 16 Dec.
Based on the SPF’s description, the ah ma was wearing a black floral shirt, jeans, and pink shoe.
She stands at around 1.6m tall, is of a slim built and has short grey hair.
According to a separate Facebook post, the elderly lady was gaigai-ing with her husband when she got lost.
We can’t confirm if the woman in the Facebook post and that on the SPF’s Twitter feed are the same person, but is likely the case, given the similar time and location that they were last seen.
We’ve reached out to the Facebook user for clarifications.
Around 1 hour later, a 75-year-old man apparently went missing in Ghim Moh, around 4 MRT stations away from Tiong Bahru.
In this case, the elderly man was last seen at Block 30 along Ghim Moh Road, just a stone’s throw away from the gourmet heaven that is Ghim Moh Market.
He was apparently dressed in a white striped shirt, black long pants, and was wearing a pair of slippers when he was last seen.
No other information was disclosed about the man.
Should you have any information on the whereabouts of the 2 missing senior citizens, do contact the police at 999.
We have no doubts that their relatives are worried sick about them and would appreciate any help to locate them.
We hope both will be found soon and reunited with their respective families safely.
