India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend for the ASEAN summit, and he couldn’t resist dropping by Singapore since he was in the region anyway.
After delivering a lecture at Shangri-La, PM Modi presumably felt a little peckish for some vegetarian in town.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met up with the second most popular politician on Twitter, and brought him out to dinner at Komala Vilas in Little India.
Sounds like PM Lee was describing Singapore’s short 9-day campaigning period to a bemused PM Modi.
Ah, if only that was possible in India, which had an electorate of 814.5 million in 2014.
Of course, no informal meeting of politicians would be complete without a selfie.
Thankfully, Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) Ong Ye Kung was there to capture a behind-the-scenes moment.
Here’s the thing though: why bring an Indian to eat Indian food in Singapore? Would PM Lee have brought Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang for pho at Joo Chiat?
