A 53-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into a buffalo in Johor Bahru on Tuesday (25 June).
District Police Chief Superintendent Mohammad Sohaimi said the victim was on his way to Singapore for work, reported Majoriti.
As a result, both the motorcyclist and the buffalo died.
A dashboard camera footage from a car travelling behind the motorcycle shows the motorcycle traversing a dark road.
The video footage showed that there was no street lighting along the road. The witness also added that the road condition in the area was bad.
At 3.40am, the motorcycle hit a buffalo crossing the road and the impact sent the man and the animal flying towards opposite sides.
According to Sohaimi, the man was seriously injured in the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to his injuries.
The buffalo also died from the collision, Sohaimi told Harian Metro.
The victim’s body was taken to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for an autopsy while the police continued to investigate the case.
The police chief also calls on anyone with information about the accident to contact the police, wrote China Press.
