Nowadays, anyone who comes into contact with someone who tests positive for Covid-19 is automatically handed a quarantine order.
No one is exempt from this rule, not even Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Mr Muhyiddin is currently serving 14 days of self-quarantine, after an official at a post-Cabinet meeting tested positive for Covid-19.
Thankfully, the Prime Minister tested negative for the coronavirus on Friday (22 May) morning.
According to a media statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Muhyiddin chaired a post-Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (20 May).

After an official present at the meeting tested positive for Covid-19, all participants underwent screening for the coronavirus. They were also instructed to quarantine themselves for 14 days.
As such, Mr Muhyiddin will be under quarantine for 14 days, starting Friday (22 May) afternoon.
This is especially unfortunate, given the fact Hari Raya takes place on Monday (25 May).
However, we’re sure the last thing Mr Muhyiddin wants is to risk spreading Covid-19 to his loved ones.
With luck, no other members of the meeting test positive for the coronavirus and everyone stays safe and healthy.
