Our childhood years often fly by too quickly, even as our parents try to document every ounce of chubby cheek fat we lose as we grow older.
This young mother of two, Michelle Nhu, has been steadily capturing her adorable daughter’s growth since 2017 in regular selfies where they’re dressed in matching attire.
The result is phenomenal as we think her young baby daughter Jayla steals the show in every single one of them.
Here’s Jayla and her mom rocking sportswear while looking fresh for a new day in selfies posted back in Jul 2017.
We love how Jayla looks like she’s having the time of her life, simply by laying beside her mother.
Baby Jayla is also pictured in florals, with elaborately done hair later on in the year — the fan accessory really adds a pop of colour to her hair.
Two pairs of oversized glasses help both mother and daughter achieve a top model-esque pictorial, complete with Jayla’s runway ready hair.
As Jayla grew older, Michelle shares that she gradually became more expressive in front of the camera, taking after her mother.
Jayla’s also extremely adept at copying her mother’s expressions, in this series of beach ensembles.
Hands up if you think the resemblance is uncanny.
Jayla is also spotted placing her little arm around her mum’s hand while she’s taking the selfie.
Posing with her tongue-out in an adorable updo really makes for a fine mother-daughter wefie.
We love the candid shots too, with Jayla and Michelle pinning up their hair with white and blue bunny bandannas for a chic denim look.
Now that Jayla’s older, she even has her own Instagram account documenting her growth, every step of the way. The page has 27,000 followers and counting, a good headstart to reach her mother’s 545,000 follower count in the future.
Here’s an adorable family portrait with young Jayla casually hanging out with her fam.
We hope that the Jovellanos family will continue to share how their lovely daughters are growing up ever so well in Chicago.
And to young Jayla, may you grow up healthy, strong and independent, just like your mummy.
Are you inspired to take pictures with your loved ones in matching attires too? Tag them in the comments so you can capture precious memories with them as time passes.
