IKEA Gives Free Recycling Bins To New BTO Owners So We Can All Save Our World

18,000 BTO Owners Will Receive Vouchers To Redeem Recycling Bins

Recycling can be quite a hassle for some Singaporeans.

You’d have to gather your barang barangs and bring them down to a common recycling bin at the void deck.

But inconvenience will no longer be a valid reason for new BTO owners to not recycle.

Starting August, 18,000 of these households will be able to collect a free recycling bin as part of a collaborative effort between the NEA and IKEA.

Their aim? To make recycling simpler and more accessible for Singaporeans.

BTO flat owners can redeem free recycling bins from 24 Aug

The initiative was jointly announced by the NEA and IKEA on Thursday (1 Aug) via a press release.

Throughout the coming months, BTO flat owners in new HDB precincts will receive a voucher via mail that they can use to redeem a free recycling bin from 24 Aug – 31 Dec.

IKEA Tampines
Address:
60 Tampines North Drive 2, Singapore 528764

317 Alexandra Rd, Singapore 159965

Do note that they can only be redeemed over the weekends during the following hours:

  • Saturday: 10am-11pm
  • Sunday: 10am-10pm

Guess only time will tell, but we hope this initiative will be successful in encouraging more Singaporean households to recycle!
