Recycling can be quite a hassle for some Singaporeans.
You’d have to gather your barang barangs and bring them down to a common recycling bin at the void deck.
But inconvenience will no longer be a valid reason for new BTO owners to not recycle.
Starting August, 18,000 of these households will be able to collect a free recycling bin as part of a collaborative effort between the NEA and IKEA.
Their aim? To make recycling simpler and more accessible for Singaporeans.
The initiative was jointly announced by the NEA and IKEA on Thursday (1 Aug) via a press release.
Throughout the coming months, BTO flat owners in new HDB precincts will receive a voucher via mail that they can use to redeem a free recycling bin from 24 Aug – 31 Dec.
