3 neighbours in M’sia argue over parking lots, authorities arrive & issue fines to residents along entire street

3 neighbours arguing over parking lots cause residents on entire street to be fined

An altercation involving three neighbours over parking lots caused residents on an entire street in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to be fined.

According to China Press, a resident was unhappy that their neighbours to the left and right were occupying the space outside their property.

The two neighbours had reportedly placed plastic barriers in front of their house.

The resident staying in the ‘middle’ house subsequently raised the issue to the Kajang Municipal Council, which subsequently fined both neighbours.

City council fined all residents who parked cars on street

Displeased with the fine, one of the neighbours raised another complaint to the same city council.

He claimed that other neighbours had also occupied the space in front of his house by parking their vehicles there.

After the second complaint, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and issued a fine to every resident who parked their cars on the street.

Kajang City Councillor Chen Jiahao (name transliterated from Chinese) told media outlets that there were sufficient parking lots in the residential area.

“The problem is not that there are no parking spaces, but the attitude of not giving way to each other,” he added. “They argued for more than an hour.”

While offering his help to assist residents with cancelling their fines, Chen also urged them to be more tolerant of one another.
