MRT train service disrupted on NEL between Boon Keng & Punggol Coast stations due to power fault

UPDATE (12 Aug, 2.30pm): MRT train service has been restored to the NEL stations since 2.10pm. The Sengkang-Punggol LRT lines remain disrupted.

An MRT train disruption had occurred on the North East Line (NEL) at about 11.17am today (12 Aug).

As a result, there is no train service at 11 NEL MRT stations, between Boon Keng and Punggol Coast stations.

Additionally, service on the Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines is also affected. SBS Transit cited a power fault as the cause of the disruption.

As of 12.25pm, train service is still available between Harbourfront and Farrer Park MRT stations.

Free regular & bridging buses available

SBS Transit stated that commuters may take free regular and bridging bus services between Dhoby Ghaut and Punggol Coast stations.

These free bus services are also available at the affected LRT stations, designated bus stops, and the following interchanges:

  • Sengkang Bus Interchange
  • Buangkok Bus Interchange
  • Hougang Bus Interchange
  • Serangoon Bus Interchange
  • Woodleigh Bus Interchange

“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused,” SBS Transit stated. Commuters who need assistance are advised to approach SBS Transit staff.
