MRT Early Closures & Late Openings At 6 North-South Line Stations From 24 Aug To 28 Sep

From 24 Aug to 28 Sep, operating hours at selected stations on the red line will be affected due to power supply system renewal and maintenance works.

Stations affected by late openings

On Tuesday (13 Aug), The Straits Times reported that 6 stations between Bukit Batok and Marsiling will only start operating at 8am on certain weekends from 24 Aug to 1 Sep.

Affected stations are:

• Bukit Batok
• Bukit Gombak
• Choa Chu Kang
• Yew Tee
• Kranji
• Marsiling

Stations affected by MRT early closures

Meanwhile, 4 stations between Bukit Batok and Yew Tee will be closing at 11pm on selected Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 28 Sep.

Shuttle buses will be available

If you find yourself affected by the change in operating hours, don’t worry because Shuttle Bus Service 4 – or Shuttle 4, for short – will be activated to transport you to your destination.

To make travelling easier during the affected timings, Shuttle 4 – plying the Jurong East to Woodlands/Kranji route – will be activated when the stations are closed.

The service will be operating between:

• Jurong East – Woodlands on weekends from 24 Aug to 1 Sep.
• Jurong East – Kranji on 6 Sep to 28 Sep.

Shuttle 4 will serve all affected stations on affected dates.

From 6 Sep to 28 Sep, Shuttle 4 will not be serving stopping points highlighted in red.

Don’t be late, plan your time properly

If you don’t want to wind up calling a private car or walking home, you are advised to plan ahead as last train timings at affected stations may vary.

Also, do remember to add some leeway to your travelling time in the morning as buses, unlike trains, are subjected to traffic jams.
