In April, we wrote about FairPrice’s new initiative, FairPrice On Wheels, making groceries more accessible to seniors during the ‘Circuit Breaker’ period.
After operating for just over a month, the vans will now be serving 3 more locations — Toa Payoh, Bukit Purmei and Ang Mo Kio.
From 28 May, you can catch the vans at a total of 8 locations, on alternate days of the week.
The vans will now accept cash, credit, and NETS payments.
The programme has been extended to include 3 more neighbourhoods — Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Purmei and Toa Payoh.
You can find FairPrice On Wheels at these addresses:
The operating schedule for FairPrice On Wheels has been updated too.
Now, they will no longer be operating at all locations daily. Instead, they will operate on alternate days.
On Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the vans will be at the following locations:
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the vans will be at the other 4 locations:
Operating hours are unchanged, from 9am-2pm.
Previously, FairPrice On Wheels only accepted cash.
Now, they accept cash, credit, and NETS, so you can shop more conveniently.
FairPrice shared on their website that they would be heeding customers’ feedback and updating the offerings.
Every Thursday, they will feature 2 different weekly picks, bringing a wider range of products to their customers.
They updated their range of products offered as well, and will continue to bring in essentials like rice, noodles, canned food, and fresh produce.
Customers must still abide by safe distancing measures like queuing 1 metre apart from each other while shopping.
Additionally, purchase limits on essential items like paper products, rice, eggs and canned products still apply. You can refer to FairPrice’s website here for details on purchase limits.
All customers and staff must wear masks at all times too.
It’s great that this helpful programme was expanded to more areas so more seniors can benefit from them.
Hopefully, it continues expanding, and perhaps even operates on a daily basis at all locations.
