Before Kit Kats, Ferrero Rocher and Kinder Bueno were a thing, Singaporean children used to much on wheel-shaped potato snacks and kueh bangkits.
If you were just hit by a wave of nostalgia and want to purchase them again, we have some good news for you.
A shop in Ang Mo Kio – Cookies Talk – sells old school snacks at prices starting from $1/100g.
You might be thinking if the shop holds that one snack from your childhood that you want to try again.
Chances are, you’ll be able to find it with their available selections.
These snacks aren’t cheap in upscale stores but since this is an old school store, you can be sure that they’re selling it at old school prices.
Fishball snacks are sold at $2/pack while potato snacks are sold at a mere $1/pack. From the looks of it, it seems like 1 packet is around 100g.
It also seems as if a Singaporean durian-flavoured favourite costs only $1.50/100g.
If you want something more jelak, they also sell kueh bangkits that literally melts in your mouth.
Yam lovers can also celebrate as they also offer yam cookies at $1.50/100g.
If old school isn’t your style, they also offer a wide array of crackers and cookies that can be found in your regular supermarkets.
They sell it here probably at a discounted price of course.
What’s more, you don’t have to worry about running out of snacks as you can buy as many tins as you want.
Looking at all these snacks really gets our stomach rumbling.
If it does the same for you, you may want to take some time this weekend to take a trip down memory lane and satisfy your inner child’s cravings.
