S’poreans Can Report Those Who Don’t Safely Distance In Queues Via The OneService App

OneService App Allows You To Report Singaporeans Who Breach Social Distancing Rules

Even though the ‘Circuit Breaker’ kicked in last Tuesday (7 Apr), it is still a common sight to see Singaporeans out and about, failing to maintain a safe social distance from one another.

To amp up enforcement, the government is introducing a new feature on the OneService app.

Singaporeans can now lodge a report through the app whenever they see someone breaching social distancing rules.

The reports will inform the government of hotspots that require more surveillance, enabling them to better enforce safe distancing during this period.

OneService app serves other functions too

Apart from reporting safe-distancing cases, Singaporeans can also use the app to inform town councils of other issues within their neighbourhood.

One can also locate car parking spaces using the app.

The OneService is available for both iOS and Andriod devices.

Singaporeans are getting fined for flouting safe distancing rules

Evidently, the government is taking the ‘Circuit Breaker’ measures extremely seriously.

From Sunday (12 Apr) Citizens are required to put on face masks when visiting places like supermarkets and convenience stores.

Furthermore, more than 200 individuals were fined for flouting social distancing rules just on Sunday (12 Apr), according to TODAY.

Let’s all do our part

With the new function on the OneService app, the government will be even better equipped to ensure safe behaviour in public spaces.

Instead of ‘shaming’ them on social media, Singaporeans can now use the app when they see anyone breaking social distancing rules.

This will hopefully translate into more productive solutions, creating a safer environment for all of us.
