A male passenger aboard a Korean Air aircraft has recently made headlines for wreaking havoc mid-flight.
According to South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper (MK), the passenger tried to open the emergency exit door on the plane before eventually getting subdued by the cabin crew on duty.
The incident occurred on Thursday (7 Nov) aboard flight KE658 which was headed to Seoul, South Korea from Bangkok, Thailand.
According to reports, the passenger initially sat on a crew-only seat near the emergency exit without permission.
After being discovered by a cabin crew, the passenger was asked to return to his assigned seat. However, he stubbornly refused to comply and hurled threats at the cabin crew.
Subsequently, he approached the emergency exit door and threatened to open it.
The cabin crew tried to talk him against doing so, informing him that such an action was a violation of the Aviation Security Act.
In a video circulating online, the cabin crew could be seen trying to pull the man away from the emergency exit door.
They eventually managed to subdue the man and moved him to a space separate from other passengers, as per the plane captain’s instructions.
He was handed over to the Incheon International Airport Police Force after the plane safely landed in South Korea in the early hours of Friday (8 Nov). The plane carrying 238 passengers arrived without further issues.
The police are reportedly investigating the said passenger for the turmoil he caused on the plane.
