Just when you think you’ve tasted all the bubble tea variations in the market, a new trend pops up to prove you wrong.
I-Mei Foods – a Taiwanese food company – recently launched Pearl Milk Tea Ice Cream Cups. Unlike regular boba tea, this version lets you add actual pearl toppings to the frozen dessert.
Thanks to this cool concoction, we’re excited for the future of beating the heat with frozen boba tea in the near future.
I-Mei Taiwan recently launched a 500ml cup of Pearl Milk Tea Ice Cream retailing at S$5 (NT$105). This version comes with soft pearls that you can add separately.
Since we’re all staying at home, we imagine that this may be the future of our beloved milk tea. You can probably buy several from the grocery and keep them in a freezer while working from home.
True to its namesake, when you open the container it mimics the consistency of actual ice cream.
Not surprisingly, this cold treat is perfect for the hot summer weather. Afterward, you can add the soft small pearls to the refreshing dessert.
Foodies who’ve had a taste test claim that the mixture tastes like a delicious milkshake. In addition, it’s not too sweet so we bet that you can finish several cups within a week.
Many bubble tea fans were left disappointed after their favourite stalls closed due to ‘Circuit Breaker’. While we expect stores to gradually reopen, many have contemplated the future of boba tea which often requires several minutes of queuing.
Thanks to the innovation of I-Mei foods, buying frozen bubble tea in advance to store them in our freezers could be possible in the near future.
Currently, these pearl milk tea ice cream cups are only available in PX mart outlets in Taiwan. Since travel is discouraged, you can bookmark this new discovery for future trips.
Here’s a map featuring one of their outlets in Taipei.
