A 72-year-old housewife from Penang has become an instant multi-millionaire after winning the Supreme Toto 6/58 jackpot worth RM40,120,690.20 (about S$12.8 million) on 28 Jan.
The win came after she purchased a System 10 Lucky Pick ticket, according to a statement by Sports Toto Malaysia.
The woman has been trying her luck since the 1980s and routinely visits her regular Toto outlet on draw days while running grocery errands.

On the day of the draw, she decided to buy a System 10 Lucky Pick ticket after noticing that the jackpot had climbed to RM40 million.
She recalled struggling to sleep on the night of the draw and feeling compelled to check her ticket in the early hours of the morning.
As she compared the numbers, she realised that her ticket matched the winning combination: 19, 29, 32, 39, 40, and 54.

“When I checked the numbers one by one and realised they all matched, I could hardly believe it,” she said in a press release issued on Monday (2 Feb). “I am grateful and will continue living a simple life.”
In addition to the jackpot prize, her System 10 ticket also earned her an extra RM173,152 (S$55,000) in System Play bonus winnings.
The woman later travelled with her husband from Penang to Kuala Lumpur to complete the prize claim.
He said the couple were grateful for the timely windfall ahead of Chinese New Year and had no major plans for the winnings, as she had only played the game for leisure.
Instead, they intend to manage the money prudently by sharing a portion with family members and placing the remainder in savings and fixed deposits to ensure long-term financial stability.
