Cat ‘supervisor’ at Penang petrol kiosk wears Shell staff uniform, keeps watch over operations

Feline employee spotted at Shell petrol kiosk in Penang

Petrol stations are typically unremarkable places where drivers only visit if they need to refuel.

Yet, a petrol kiosk in Penang, Malaysia has gone viral over one of its employees — an adorable cat.

Footage of the feline was posted on TikTok earlier this week and has garnered over a million views within three days.

In the 13-second video, the cat was seen seated in the middle of four petrol pumps.

Despite being close to the vehicles, the cat appeared calm as it surveyed its surroundings, almost as if it were a supervisor working at the petrol station.

To set itself apart from other cats, the feline supervisor was even wearing a red-and-yellow shirt resembling the uniform worn by Shell employees.

According to Hype Malaysia, the cat was spotted at a Shell kiosk in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Netizens amused by cat ‘supervisor’

Users on TikTok could not help but gush over the adorable Shell employee.

One TikToker felt the feline was worthy of the “employee of the month” award.

Another user observed that the cat was not just an employee at the petrol station, but the owner.

Meanwhile, one netizen even joked that the cat was on duty to ensure drivers of Singapore-registered cars were not taking advantage of the RON95 subsidies extended to Malaysians.
