Are you a big pasta fan? If you are, you would probably be aware of the famous pasta sauce, pesto.
This olive oil-based sauce is widely loved by Italian food lovers and can easily be found in various Singapore supermarkets.
However, if you’ve been a frequent pesto sauce consumer, here’s a piece of unfortunate news.
Since Friday (10 Jan), Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has been recalling several pesto products as they contain peanut allergens that might be sensitive to certain people.
The affected pesto products come from these 3 brands:
On Wednesday (15 Jan), SFA announced on Facebook that 4 Sacla’ pesto products will be recalled from food distributor Sonnamera.

Prior to that, SFA also announced on Monday (13 Jan) that they would recall 2 Tesco brand pesto products from local grocer, NTUC FairPrice.

That’s not all. Last Friday (10 Jan), 1 pesto product from Sainsbury’s had been recalled from online grocery shop, Redmart Limited.
The product recalled is Sainsbury’s ‘green pesto’, originating from United Kingdom.
You can contact Redmart at 6261 3456 to request for a refund or exchange.
The aforementioned pesto products have been recalled as they contain peanut allergens that were not declared on their product labels.
So if you are allergic to peanuts, please do not consume these products. If you’d like, you may contact the various pesto product importers stated above for further questions.
