While out for supper on 11 Nov, a woman in Thailand found a piglet in the middle of a road.
She shared about the incident on TikTok, where the newborn animal can be seen with its umbilical cord still attached.
It wobbled unsteadily as it slowly blinked at the camera.
The woman explained that the piglet had fallen off a moving truck, which she believed was carrying a group of pigs to a slaughterhouse.
She also assumed that the piglet had been born on the truck.
Despite the saddening encounter, the woman noted in the comments that a samaritan had taken in the poor animal.
In response to questions regarding its well-being, she later uploaded a follow-up video showing the piglet being fed milk, confirming the baby was safe.
Many netizens expressed sympathy for the piglet after watching the video, saying he was lucky to survive the slaughter.
“This is why I’ve become vegan for nearly 30 years,” wrote one commenter.
Meanwhile, another TikTok user commented that he was willing to adopt the piglet, mentioning he has a paddock and could provide real-time updates on its well-being.
However, some people commented that pregnant pigs are usually exempt from the slaughter and wondered if the truck was merely relocating the animals.
