Pokemon Center Singapore Releases Sword & Shield Scorbunny, Grookey & Sobble Plushies

The moment is finally here for Pokemon fans who’ve waited months for Nintendo’s Sword & Shield release.

Meet Grookey, Scorbunny & Sobble – aka the new Bulbasaur, Charmander & Squirtle of the series – who’ve officially landed in Singapore.

A brand new batch of eager Pokemon trainers turned out in droves this morning at Changi Jewel’s Pokemon Center to pick their new starters.

Snaking queues at Changi Jewel at 9am

Queues began at around 9.30am at Changi Jewel, as PoGo trainers waited patiently in line, for the store to open at 10am on Friday (15 Nov).

Most were hoping to pick up the latest copy of Pokemon Sword & Shield – Nintendo’s latest RPG game in the nostalgic series, compatible with Nintendo Switch.

Scorbunny, Grookey or Sobble?

This round’s pick of starters includes Scorbunny – a Fire-type bunny, Grookey – a Grass-type monkey, and Sobble – a Water-type lizard pokemon.

Fans posted snippets of the exciting atmosphere within the Pokemon Center on Instagram, with shelves lined with plushies and keychains.

Here’s a closer look at the keychains, retailing for S$18 each. Pretty pricey, but it’s roughly the expected price for official merch.

We’d also recommend checking out the adorable evolution series, which includes a plushie of Dragonair holding a smol Dratini. It looks insanely precious.

Life-size mascots entertain guests

Guests were eagerly greeted by life-sized Pokemon mascots, doing the famous Pikachu-like jiggle, and posing for photo-ops.
