On Wednesday (13 Nov) evening in India, an ambulance was transferring a pregnant woman and her family from the Erandol government hospital to Jalgaon district hospital when its engine began to smoke.
Sensing that something was wrong, the driver immediately parked the vehicle on the side of the overpass.
He quickly got off and asked the pregnant woman and her two relatives to do the same.
After making sure that the family was a safe distance away from the vehicle, the driver notified police. By this time, the ambulance had already caught fire.
The driver also called for another ambulance so the pregnant woman could be conveyed to the hospital.
Footage of the incident showed a crowd gathered at the scene of the raging fire.
The ambulance then suddenly explodes, scattering the nearby observers.
According to local media, the fire caused the oxygen cylinder in the ambulance to explode.
Shockwaves from the explosion even caused windows of nearby buildings to shatter.
Images of the aftermath showed the charred remnants of the ambulance.
Miraculously, there were no reported injuries.
