Those looking to foster or adopt a cat, here’s a chance for you to do so, and do good at the same time.
On Friday (1 Mar), 16 cats were found abandoned in Punggol.
Netizens took to Facebook on the same day to issue an urgent call for fosterers or adopters to take them in.
Sadly, if no one comes forward, the AVA will have to put them down.
16 cats were found abandoned in 5 cages, mostly at a multi-storey car park in Punggol.
Some of the cages were in dilapidated and rusty condition, and several cats were squeezed into a cage obviously too cramped for them.
One cage containing 2 cats was also left irresponsibly by the roadside.
There were little kittens among them as well.
As if that weren’t heartbreaking enough, 2 more cages were abandoned at the corner of Block 326C along Sumang Walk.
Facebook group Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats has put out an urgent call for willing fosterers or adopters to come forward and take in the cats.
The cats are allegedly being kept by AVA as they investigate the animal abandonment case.
It is estimated that in a week’s time, fosterers or adopters keen to help the cats will be able to do so after the completion of the AVA investigation.
If there are insufficient fosterers, the remaining cats without new homes will be put to sleep.
Animals have feelings too and should be treated decently like any of us.
So if you’re able to give the cats a foster or forever home, do contact Zuhairi – the original Facebook user who spotted the cats – via PM on Facebook.
If you’re unable to take in the cats, you can also help out by sharing the Facebook post.
We hope all 16 cats will find loving homes that they can spend the remainder of their lives in soon.
