Suspected youth brawl breaks out in Punggol

On Tuesday (26 Nov), a fight broke out at Block 622B Punggol Central, suspected to have been a brawl between youths.

The fight left harrowing splatters of blood in the public area, unsettling residents living nearby.

Speaking to MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed receiving a call for assistance and conveying a 22-year-old male in a conscious state to Changi General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

A trail of blood over 100 metres long was found leading from Block 622B to Block 622A.

The police had locked down one of the lifts and the stairwell after arriving at the scene.

It is believed that an injured male might have left the blood stains while he was running away.

The images of fresh blood left on white walls and floors had unsettled many residents living in the area.

Showed up bloody at coffee shop

An injured male had sought assistance from a nearby coffee shop, where he allegedly showed up covered in blood.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident reportedly involved a group of youths including the injured 22-year-old, who likely escaped after the brawl. The man was later conveyed to the hospital.

Residents on lower floors did not hear any sounds of brawling and only realised a serious fight had happened after police arrived on the scene.

One resident said the HDB blocks in the area have been completed for less than five years, making it a relatively new estate.

Similar incidents have reportedly never happened before.

“I was not paying attention to the floor when I came home, and I nearly stepped on blood,” the resident said.

Another resident mentioned feeling very worried, as they have a young child at home.
