New SafeEntry Check-In Shows An Otter Swimming On Top If You’re Cleared

New SafeEntry Check-In Shows Green Background With Otter For Vaccinated Individuals

With most places in Singapore requiring patrons to be vaccinated, it can be difficult for staff to conduct checks quickly.

Thus, TraceTogether has been updated to make it easier to check people’s vaccination status.

In their update on Thursday (11 Nov), TraceTogether stated that the new version 2.11 would differentiate vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals through the background.

Those who are cleared will now show an otter swimming on top of the SafeEntry check-in pass.

Cleared individuals will see otter swimming above new SafeEntry check-in

On Thursday (11 Nov), TraceTogether informed the public about several updates regarding the SafeEntry app.

The updates will only be applicable for app version 2.11 and above. Updated versions will either have a green or white background for SafeEntry, depending on whether an individual has been cleared.

Individuals who are both vaccinated and cleared for their test status will have a green background, signalling that they are eligible to enter places.

Additionally, an adorable animated otter swimming at the top of the page shows venue staff it is not a screenshot. Those who try to screen record will see an icon in the centre to inform venue staff.

A syringe and test memo icon on the top left corner of the page will show that the individual has met the requirements.

This is different from the previous version, where individuals had to show venue staff their vaccination status after checking in.

Groups who check-in together must still show vaccination status

The new design enables quick entry at places that require individuals to show their vaccination and test status.

However, a white pass will show up by default for group check-ins instead of showing everyone’s status. TraceTogether explained that this function is for privacy and security reasons.

Hence, those who check in in a group must still show their vaccination and test status before entry.

While it could be inconvenient to some, TraceTogether takes data privacy and security very seriously.

You can visit TraceTogether’s website to read more about the updates.

Remember to update your TraceTogether app

With the new TraceTogether updates, it would be easier for staff to check if an individual is cleared.

Do remember to update your TraceTogether app for easier access. And, of course, to enjoy the bonus of seeing a cute otter swimming around your SafeEntry page.
