Two security guards became unexpected Internet stars after their funny reactions to a camera mounted on a parked motorbike were captured and shared on TikTok.
The video, posted by Jaydee, 27, a dispatch rider and content creator, shows the guards interacting with the device in a lighthearted and playful manner while Jaydee was away.
Their hilarious and unfiltered responses quickly endeared them to viewers online.
The video, recorded a few weeks ago at a condominium in Newton, begins with the security guards approaching the bike, clearly intrigued by the camera.
One notices a sign reading “smile for camera” and puts up a peace sign. The other then waves, both of them laughing.
Moments later, their playful side emerges. One guard pretends to perform a “magic trick”, moving his thumb as if detaching it.
Jaydee praised the trick in his video, giving it a “10 out of 10”.
The guards then shift their focus to the bike itself. One scrutinises it and questions whether it’s a genuine BMW, joking that the Yamaha logo had likely been swapped out for a BMW one.
Explaining the confusion, Jaydee told MS News: “It’s because my bike has a sticker that says ‘BMW’ but actually my bike is a ‘Yamaha’, and so he got very curious and confused.”
“It’s the best conversation starter. It’s always fun to see people appreciate the details and design that I have on my bike,” he added.
As the guards realise the owner is a content creator and motor vlogger, they up the ante. One starts dancing while the other attempts to rap to hilarious effect.
After the impromptu performance, they go back to discussing whether the bike is really a BMW. One exclaims that he has never seen this model before.
Jaydee joked in his video caption that he “keeps judging” his bike.
The video ends with Jaydee greeting the guards before riding off.
In response to MS News, Jaydee said his first reaction “was a mix of amusement and pride”.
He said it’s “always heartwarming to see people admire something you’ve put a lot of effort into”, adding that he “was laughing and smiling” when he first saw the footage.
He then decided to post it on TikTok as he felt that it was a lighthearted and relatable moment that could bring smiles to people. He also wanted to show how motorbikes can spark curiosity and joy.
The video has since garnered more than 140,000 views and 16,000 likes on his TikTok account, with many praising the guards for bringing a smile to their day.
“Never see condo security so cute and friendly,” one user commented.
Another wrote: “When you get a shift with your favourite colleague.”
