After the confirmation of a Covid-19 case in the office, DBS dramatically evacuated 300 employees. Within 2 days, Shell had to implement a similar protocol.
Shell cleared their Buona Vista office on 14 Feb after 1 employee was found to have close contact with a confirmed patient.
As the number of Covid-19 cases increases, Singapore companies are taking more precautions to protect their staff.
According to Shell’s press release, the employee is currently well with no symptoms of Covid-19.
However, the company decided not to take any chances, immediately sending the employee home from The Metropolis office. He will be monitoring his health at home.

Furthermore, they responsibly declared this information and cleared parts of the office to facilitate disinfection of the workspace.
Those in close contact with the employee are also told to work from home, as stated by a Shell spokesperson.
Furthermore, companies are implementing measures to guard against the virus, according to the Ministry of Health guidelines.
As reported by Shell, employees in all sites and offices need to participate in daily temperature taking exercises.
The company’s swift and thorough response is commendable. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry.
