Shibuya’s Tallest Building Has Outdoor Observatory That Lets You Marvel At 360° Views Of Tokyo

Tokyo is peppered with glimmering skyscrapers and towers, with some of them offering unobstructed views of the metropolis’ skyline.

From the famous Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and even to Roppongi Hills, tourists like yourself are spoilt for choice.

Enter Shibuya Scramble Square, the soon-to-be tallest building in the bustling ward of Shibuya.

The 230m-high building is set to open on 1 Nov, featuring an open-air observation deck that offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of Tokyo.

From Shibuya Scramble Square’s observation deck – named Shibuya Sky – you can get a gorgeous view of Tokyo’s stunning skyline, spot the famous Tokyo Tower, and even see the majestic Mount Fuji.

Shibuya Scramble Square has office & retail spaces too

Shibuya Scramble Square has 47 floors, and it’s located above Shibuya Station.

The skyscraper, which doubles up as a shopping mall, will have 213 shops and restaurants located from B2 to the 14th floor.

According to Real Estate Japan, these commercial spaces will feature:

  • Food
  • Fashion
  • Lifestyle goods
  • Cafés & restaurants

Ticket prices & where to get them

Shibuya Sky is a place you should definitely visit so you can get the best views of the metropolis, and show them off on your Instagram.

After all, the Tokyo skyline is one of the many things you don’t get to see everyday.

Tickets for the observation deck can be bought online. Here are the prices:

  • Adults (18 Above) – S$23 (1,800 Yen)
  • Students – S$11-17 (900-1,400 Yen)
  • Infants – S$6 (500 Yen)

You can also get the tickets over the counter on the 14th floor but the prices do differ:

  • Adults (18 Above) – S$25 (2000 Yen)
  • Students – S$12-20 (1000-1600 Yen)
  • Infants – S$7 (600 Yen)

People with disabilities can enjoy a 50% discount on tickets. For more details, click here.

Operating hours & how to get there

Operating hours for various shops in Shibuya Scramble Square differ. Here are the timings according to Japan’s local time, which is 1 hour ahead of Singapore.

Shops: 10am-9pm
Restaurants (12th floor): 11am-11pm
Restaurants (13th floor): 11am-12am
Observation deck (Shibuya Sky): 9am-11pm. Last entry at 10pm.

To get there, you have to find your way to Shibuya Station’s East exit once you alight. You can get to Shibuya Station via the various lines as seen in the picture below.
