On Tuesday (26 Mar) morning, Singapore Airlines (SQ) flight 423 from Mumbai landed safely in Singapore after a mid-air bomb threat, which luckily turned out to be a hoax.
According to The Straits Times, the airline received a call after the plane’s departure from Mumbai at around 11.35pm, claiming that there was a bomb on board the aircraft.
Following the call, the pilot raised a bomb threat alert on the flight.
The Boeing 777-300ER plane was safely escorted back to Changi Airport by jets from the Singapore Air Force.
At the time of writing, all 263 passengers have disembarked the plane apart from a woman and a child, who are currently assisting investigations.
The remaining 261 passengers had to undergo mandatory security checks before they were allowed to leave.
This is a breaking story, we will update this article once more information is made known.
