Visit kildiphoto on Instagram and you’ll find a page filled with the brightest colours.
The profile states that Singaporean photographer Ms Kildisheva is fascinated by doors, colours and windows. Scroll down, and you’ll see the gorgeous products of that fascination.
The page is a wonderful smorgasbord of multicoloured, mulitvariate pictures of doors and windows from all around Singapore.
More than just taking pictures of the beautiful places, Ms Kildisheva also ‘recreates’ them on canvas.
Here is what one of her canvas paintings could look like in your home. We recommend putting it up on an empty wall so that the contrast is apparent and the colours salient.
There is a whole collection of different paintings of different dimensions which you can choose from Ms Kildisheva’s etsy store. You can visit her store here.
Some people have even bought multiple paintings. The ones below were bought by a physiotherapy office. The paintings do, after all, have a kind of calming, palliative effect.
Ms Kildisheva has also published a photobook called Singapore Shophouse Walks. The photobook features plenty more pretty pictures of the vibrant doors and windows around Singapore. The book goes for $48 on her etsy page, but seems to be currently out of stock.
These pictures and paintings remind us that Singapore retains pockets of heritage if we would only look for them.
Ms Kildisheva brought out the best of them in her pictures. Hopefully, she will inspire many more to do the same.
