Prior to the announcement, other social distancing measures have already been in place. This includes reduced operating hours, the closing of selected centres, and physical separation in queues.

Singapore Pools also deployed staff to prevent overcrowding at outlets.

Punters can still place wagers, albeit not in person

While live draws can no longer be attended, patrons can still place their bets online or by phone calls.

This not only makes processes slightly more convenient but also complies with health measures amid the Covid-19 outbreak.

The betting company also announced that all live draws – such as 4D and Toto – will be held behind closed doors and no longer being screened at branches.

Hoping the measures will help contain Covid-19 outbreak

Unfortunately for many, this comes as yet another trying measure put in place to curb the spread of this infectious virus.

However, this is but a small sacrifice we have to make for the greater good.

Hopefully, these strict measures will help contain the outbreak so life can return resume normality soon.
