Singapore Announces Third Death From Covid-19, A 70-Year-Old Male With High Blood Pressure & Cholesterol

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced Sunday (29 Mar) that a 3rd Covid-19 patient has died.

The man, a 70-year-old Singaporean, was pronounced dead at 12.12pm.

Had been in ICU since 2 Mar

The patient was admitted to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on 29 Feb.

He was tested positive for Covid-19 on 2 Mar and was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) after.

Unfortunately, his health deteriorated during his 27-day stay in the ICU, and he succumbed today.

MOH said the patient had a history of high blood pressure – hypertension – as well as high cholesterol.

The family has been informed and SGH is helping them during this time.

Covid-19 affects all

Singapore’s 3 deaths from Covid-19 so far have been from patients with underlying health conditions. However, this does not mean that we should be complacent.

Covid-19 can affect anyone, and kill anyone. We’re simply very lucky so far to have recorded a mere 3 deaths, but the statistics can change very quickly.

MS News extends our sincere condolences to the victim’s family.
