Every S’pore Household Gets $100 Credit For Utility Bills From Fortitude Budget

Singaporean Households Will Receive One-Off S$100 Credit, Covers All Property Types

As we stay home this ‘Circuit Breaker’, many Singaporeans are spending less on transport costs.

However, there is also an effect on our utility bill, which covers electricity, gas and water services. Staying at home more means a larger utilities bill.

In his Fortitude Budget speech on Wednesday (26 May), DPM Heng Swee Keat addresses this financial worry.

S$100 Solidarity Utilities Credit

Mr Heng announced a one-off S$100 “Solidarity Utilities Credit”, benefiting households with at least 1 Singapore citizen.

The government wishes to thank Singaporeans for staying home during what has been a tough battle.

This will provide great relief for our pockets as families remain indoors amid Covid-19.

This credit covers all household types, ranging from HDB flats to private property.

$100 credited in Jul or Aug bills

Singaporeans can expect to see the $100 “credited in their Jul or Aug household bill”, stated Mr Heng.

Hopefully, this support scheme can provide financial relief for families who are diligently staying home during this pandemic.

While Singapore plans to reopen businesses by July, we can still expect to stay at home more often than before.
