SPCA Offers $1,000 Reward For Information On Kitten Found In Zipped Bag

Taman Jurong Resident Found Kitten In A Zipped Up Bag

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is offering a $1,000 reward in exchange for information on a horrifying case of animal cruelty.

Earlier this week, Facebook user Yvonne Teo shared that she had found a kitten trapped inside a zipped bag.

Ms Teo and her husband found the bag in a cardboard box near her Taman Jurong home. They had heard a meowing sound and traced it to a sealed box in the fire riser room.

The zipped bag had been cruelly placed inside the box.

Thankfully, Ms Teo found the animal in time and the kitten was “safe and sound”.

She alerted the Cat Welfare Society of the incident and a Taman Jurong resident is now caring for the animal.

It might be a happy ending for the kitten but the SPCA is determined to track down the person responsible for this act of animal cruelty.

In an appeal for information posted on Friday (29 Jun), SPCA called for information that would lead to the “arrest and prosecution” of those responsible.

The post has since been shared more than 300 times.

Anyone with information related to the incident can call the SPCA’s 24-hour hotline at 62875355, or e-mail inspector@spca.org.sg. All information provided will be confidential.
