While many of us are lucky to have a roof over our heads and a steady food stream for our meals, there are others who are less fortunate.
Mexican-Turkish food chain Stuff’d announced an initiative on Facebook where they will provide free food for needy children under 14 years old.
Here’s their post in full.
Stuff’d is a Mexican-Turkish restaurant known for their wide variety of customisable burritos and kebabs.
On Thursday (18 Apr), the burrito chain announced on Facebook that they will be providing free food for children struggling with their daily meals.
Kids under this initiative will be given a card that enables them to collect food from the Stuff’d outlet at Northpoint every day.
Responding to MS News queries on the duration of the event, Stuff’d Singapore said,
“We have no duration set in stone for the program. The mechanism of the program may evolve as we understand better on the demand and develop the mechanism for this program. But the philosophy that nobody should go hungry and helping people to have access to safe, nutritious food will not change.”
Stuff’d will conduct screenings on potential applicants by asking questions to understand more about their background.
This initiative isn’t exclusive for those staying in or around Yishun. Stuff’d also urged those staying far away, but in need of help to approach them as well.
Stuff’d added that they may extend the initiative to other outlets in the future, based on the demand recorded.
In a bid to encourage the children to pay the kindness forward, Stuff’d hopes they will spend a day this year helping out at any charitable organisation of their choice.
If you’re keen to register or know anyone in need of help, send them a message on Facebook or drop them an email.
Children under the age of 14 are in their growing years and hence require wholesome food.
Kudos to the folks at Stuff’d for rolling out such a meaningful initiative to help those in need.
We hope this will encourage other organisations to follow in the footsteps of Stuff’d and introduce similar initiatives in the future.
