MindChamps emphasised that they take the well-being of their students very seriously and have been working closely with the authorities.

Children are recovering

2 out of the 31 people diagnosed were hospitalised but were discharged soon after.

Some of the affected children have recovered and returned to school while others are still recovering at home.

MindChamps has stepped up measures and implemented stomach flu prevention protocols such as the cleaning all surfaces daily.

Stomach flu symptoms

Here are the symptoms to look out for if you suspect you or your loved ones have stomach flu.

  • Diarrhea/constipation
  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Stomach/Intestinal cramps
  • Joint stiffness/aches
  • Weight loss

People typically develop stomach flu within 24 to 72 hours of being exposed to the virus. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience any three of the above symptoms for more than two days.

Stomach flu recuperation measures

The stomach flu virus is highly contagious. Follow these measures in order to recover fully.

  • Stay hydrated
  • Eat plain & light food
  • Avoid dairy, eggs, spicy, oily & fried foods
  • Avoid acidic and juicy fruits

Stay alert and practise good hygiene

If you spot these symptoms amongst your loved ones, ensure that they receive medical attention promptly.

Since late last year, many cases of stomach flu have surfaced, with some resulting in fatalities. This reiterates the need for food hygiene standards to be regularly and vigilantly monitored.

We hope that the children will recover fully and that such an incident will not occur again in the future.
