The four Thai Hunks, who went viral after taking over Mr Mookata on Liang Seah Street in August 2023, were originally slated to grace the grand opening of the restaurant’s new Tanglin Road outlet from today (3 May) until Sunday (5 May).
In a turn of events, the ripped quartet, who hail from Bangkok’s Sathanee Mee Hoi restaurant, was denied entry into Singapore just one day before the opening date.
Instead, more than 10 hunks from Singapore will step in to take their place, Mr Mookata Plus said in a recent update.
According to 8days.sg, the manager of Mr Mookata Plus is also uncertain about the details surrounding the Thai Hunks’ rejected entry into Singapore.
On 2 May (Thursday), one of the Hunks, Sarawut Siriphet, uploaded an Instagram post showing himself en route to the Lion City.
Shortly after, he bid farewell to Singapore with a caption that read “BKK calling”.
Since then, all four Thai Hunks have returned to their home country.
During their appearance at Mr Mookata’s Bugis outlet last year, their salacious performances — which included gyrating, catcalling, and other suggestive acts — attracted a large crowd of onlookers.

In a Facebook post on Friday (3 May), Mr Mookata Plus apologised to those who were looking forward to catching the Thai Hunks in action.
Acknowledging the “sad news”, the restaurant promised to offer complimentary free-flow beer for all buffet patrons.
If that isn’t enough, the eatery also promised to arrange for “10+ SG Hunks”, sharing an image of ten men — presumably the Singaporean Hunks in question — posing in front of the Mr Mookata sign.
The restaurant’s manager clarified to 8days.sg that these Singaporean Hunks were part of the original plan, not a last-minute addition, intended to interact with their Thai counterparts during Mr Mookata Plus’ opening.
