Drivers on the Bartley Flyover were met with an unusual sight recently — a ‘firing squad’ of Traffic Police officers armed with radar speed guns.
A group of about a dozen Traffic Policemen stood on the road shoulder, all equipped with radar guns pointed at oncoming cars.
Clad in high-visibility vests, the officers appeared to be engaged in an exercise that might unsettle any speeding motorist passing by.
The sighting reportedly took place on 21 Oct at around 10.21am, with the Facebook post suggesting that this was an on-site training session for the officers.
“Look(s) like there there will be more officers deployed in the near future,” the post said.
Netizens were quick to react with amusement at the sight of the radar ‘mass shooting’.
One user humorously likened the scene to a video game glitch, where multiple identical non-player characters (NPCs) spawn in the same spot.
Another user joked that if someone got caught speeding here, they would end up receiving 12 summonses at once for their crime.
One individual pointed out that this particular stretch of the Bartley Flyover resembles an expressway, which could lead to speeding, making it an ideal spot for the Traffic Police to catch offenders.
